Help From Albertan Married Women!
So this is along with my previous blog, but I am just needed some help...How did you all go about changing your name over??? I got my license changed, but what do you need to change over your SIN # etc??? Did you all legally change your names for the $200??? Just wondering what my plan of action should be. Thanks!

Oh Amy, I understand the funeral to the old last name thing! Though I didn't even like Aicken and was excited to get rid of it, nobody even knew who Avey Christiansen was. Now Avey Aicken had a reputation!!! It kind of feels like you have to start building that all over again. No matter how excited you are about taking on a new last name, it's really hard...
I can't remember exactly what they told me about the whole name change, but you don't have to pay to have it changed. I think you can basically have both of your names if you want to. You could change some stuff to Overland and some to Sorenson. Though it would be confusing, I'm pretty sure it's fine. Your marriage license is all you need to change your name. I still get mail for Avey Aicken. So don't worry too much about it...
Name changes are such a pain!! I didnt have to pay either, I changed my name for, alberta health care, sin #, banks, bills, drivers license, insurance, passport. Thats all that I can think of right now.
Your SIN name doesn't need to be changed. Once you get your marriage license you can change all your basic stuff..then everything that you missed will be changed once you file your first income tax together.
It is fun to change your name...Overland is a pretty good name to have.;)
