Faces in the Crowd

So often I feel like just another face in the crowd. In class, in the mall at a game.... This weekend Jer and I were at Break Forth. We had the opportunity to hear a cafe concert by Robin Mark performed in a beautiful church. As we sat in the balcony, I was not only able to soak up the music and take in the rich arcitecture of the building, but I was able to look down and around and scan a crowd full of faces. The difference with this crowd was that, these faces were not just faces to me. As I glanced around, more and more faces became familiar. These were faces I knew. Faces I loved. This made me feel like I was not just another face in the crowd. These people knew me as well. This has me reflecting a bit on the world and God's view of us. We may at times feel like another face in the crowd, but someone greater sees us. Someone is in the heavens in the grandest of all church balconies, looking down on us, surrounded by angels and sees our face in the crowd. Someone greater sees our faces, faces with hopes and dreams, needs and despairs. Someone greater sees our faces whom he loves so dearly. Someone greater sees more than a generalized crowd, but an individualized crowd, a crowd built with creativity and uniqueness, as a result of His creation. Someone loved His creation so much that he sent His son to save us, to be with us. This someone is God. He sees our faces. We are never alone in a crowd. God is always scanning, and we are always familiar to him. We are faces he knows. Faces he loves.
